What are the right channels to operate in?

As trading was almost a foreign concept to many South Africans we decided on a blanket approach to our initial marketing campaigns. These included TV, Radio, Newspaper, Magazine and Affiliate marketing systems. The idea was simple. Show potential consumers & clients the possibility to generate a secondary income by trading the currency markets.

The initial approach worked too well. We were filling up presentations that were meant for 150 people with over 500 people attending. However not all would sign up.

So a different approach was needed. Through utilizing our affiliates from around the world we created a bespoke refer a friend campaign. This proved to be a huge success as what is the best marketing out there. Word of Mouth. By you receiving an invitation from your best friend you knew that this had to be something they were using and interested in. Needless to say. Our audiences grew and so did our sales straight away.

With the huge success in Cape Town that we experienced. JHB was wanting us there and wanted us there now.
Within 3 months of opening in Cape Town, we opened a training centre and a trading floor in JHB.
With a whole new sales department, while marketing was still being done in Cape Town.

What Worked Best

Using Marketing that was Cost Effective!

It soon became apparent that our blanket approach was working but we needed the right clientele through the doors into our seminars. Our strategy changed from a blanket approach to a targeted one. Improving our website SEO, Google Adwords and by creating a database we could mail proved more effective in drawing in the right people to our seminars. By also creating sales funnels and retargeting campaigns further added to the success in reaching sales targets within 6 months.
